    Clear Title and keys.
  • My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?

  • What do I need to donate for my vehicle?
You will need the title of the vehicle, but if you do not have it, please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made. Please call us toll-free at 888-645-2999 seven days a week.
  • What type of paperwork will I need to donate my car?
You will need a clear title. Any lien holder listed on the title must be cleared and or released by the bank. This law varies by state. Please refer to the DMV in your state for clear instructions.
  • Can I donate an abandoned car?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept abandoned cars. Contact the local police to list the vehicle as abandoned or find out if a local junkyard can pick up the car.
  • Can I donate a car whose owner passed away?
It depends. We can accept the car if you have a copy of the death certificate and documentation that you are the official inheritor of the deceased’s belongings.
  • How will the car be picked up?
We will arrange to have your vehicle towed away at a scheduled time convenient for you. The vehicle will be picked up by a licensed tow company at no cost to you and will be taken to our sale location.
  • Do I have to be home when you pick up my car?
No! Just remove all personal belongings from the car and leave the keys and title in the glove compartment.
  • How long will it take to pick up my car?
We will contact you to schedule an appointment within two to three business days at the most. If you need your car picked up sooner, please call us toll-free at 888-645-2999 seven days a week. We may be able to make those arrangements as well.
  • What should I do with my license plate after I donate my car?
You should remove the license plates once the tower arrives and return them to the DMV. In the states of Arizona, California, Illinois, Minnesota, and Washington, you must also turn in a release of liability to the DMV. In Washington, Illinois, and Minnesota, this form is called a Report of Sale. In Alaska and Hawaii, you need to complete and return a Notice of Vehicle Sale, the transfer form that is attached to the bottom of your title. On these forms, you should fill in our name and address: The Epoch Times Northwest, 2433 De La Cruz Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050. For the vehicle purchase price field, you can fill in “donation”.
  • Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?
Yes, our driver will issue a receipt at the time of pick-up. This is not your final tax receipt unless the sale of your vehicle does not exceed $500. This initial acknowledgment will indicate your name as well as the year, make, model, and condition of the car you are donating. It will be your only receipt if your vehicle sells for less than $500. An IRS Form 1098-C, Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes will be mailed to you within 30 days of the sale stating the amount of gross proceeds received from your car, provided your vehicle sold for more than $500. This will be your tax receipt for your charitable contribution.
  • Is the Epoch Times Northwest a non-profit organization?
    Yes, the Epoch Times Northwest is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation (FED ID# 85-0886492).
  • When will I receive my tax receipt?
You should receive your tax-deductible receipt in the mail within 2-4 weeks of donating. You’ll also receive a temporary receipt at the time of pickup.
